We have been informed of an unexpected water main break in the Village of Lincolnshire that will impact Daniel Wright Junior High School. Water supply in our school will be shut off starting at 11:00 a.m. today. Students will already have been dismissed (at 10:50 a.m.), and staff will depart the building at lunch, because no water service means no use of toilets, sinks and drinking fountains.
The 8th-grade dance will proceed as planned. The building will be under a boil order for 24-hours after the repair is completed. Students will not be able to use the drinking fountains. We are planning on providing extra bottles of water for the students, and it will be expected that students use hand sanitizer for the bathrooms. We are also making contingency plans for bathrooms by providing portable toilets.
For your information, you can locate the notice from the Village of Lincolnshire on our virtual backpack. We are in contact with the Village Engineer for updates on progress. Please stay tuned for further updates.
