Esports

Purpose of the Activity

The purpose of the Esports Club is to create a supportive and inclusive environment where students can develop teamwork, communication, and resilience while enjoying team-based competitive gaming. Beyond gaming, the club offers opportunities for students to explore other exciting roles such as shoutcasting, streaming, content creation, and tech support, allowing everyone to contribute to the team's success. The club emphasizes social and emotional growth by teaching students to handle wins and losses with grace, build empathy, and strengthen connections with their peers. It also encourages a healthy balance by promoting physical activity, mindfulness, and responsible gaming habits, helping students thrive both in and out of the game. For more information, please visit the D103 Esports website.

Tryout Procedures

There are no tryouts for the Esports Club, everyone is welcome to join! However, due to limited space for competitive athletes, students are asked to complete a short application. This application will ask about their gaming experience and the roles they are interested in, such as competitive player, shoutcaster, streamer, or content creator. Once applications are reviewed, students will be informed of their team role and invited to register for the club through RevTrak. To apply, please fill out the D103 Esports application, when available.

Number of Participants

The Esports Club has limited spots for students to join as competitive esports athletes. However, there are numerous opportunities for students interested in other key roles, such as team subs, shoutcasters, streamers, content creators, tech support, and equipment managers. These roles ensure that every student can find a place in the club, whether their passion lies in gaming, broadcasting, or behind-the-scenes support. For more information, please visit the D103 Esports website.

Grade Level/s of Participants

The Esports Club is open to all students in grades 6-8. Any student within these grade levels is welcome to apply and find their place in the team, whether as a competitive player or in one of the many supportive roles available.

Meeting Schedule and Location

Students will meet twice a week on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3:40 to 5:00 p.m. The program runs from mid-February and concludes in early May.

Student Attendance Guidelines

Regular attendance is essential to the success of our team. Tournament games are team-based, requiring time, commitment, and dedication to build strong team rapport and synergy. Students who frequently miss practice or tournament sessions, particularly those in competitive roles, risk losing their spot on the team. We strongly encourage students to prioritize attendance to ensure their growth and contribution to the team's success.
