History Bee/Bowl

Purpose of the Activity

For students who enjoy all areas of history, this is a great opportunity to show off your knowledge! If you qualify for the National History Bee, this is a great way to sharpen your skills, become familiar with buzzer-style quiz competition and experience the type of questions the History Bee could ask in competitions. National Bee qualification is not mandatory, but is encouraged for participation.

Tryout Procedures

There is an online qualifying exam that will be administered before winter break, for all students who are interested in competing.

Make sure you have a permission to participate form on file with the club sponsor or coach otherwise you will not be able to participate.

Grade Level/s of Participants

The team is open to sixth-, seventh- and eighth-graders.

Number of Participants

Each History Bowl competition mandates specific numbers of students who are able to compete at once (usually four), as well as how many alternates may be listed on the roster. These rosters will be determined as necessary based not only on availability, but also on academic mastery. There may be an option to enter more than one team from DW in any given competition.
