Robotics

Purpose of the Activity

To provide an opportunity for sixth-graders to develop their spatial and programming skills in a non-competitive environment. Students will build and program LEGO® Education SPIKE™ Prime Robots.

Tryout Procedures

Although there are no tryouts for this club, students are required to submit an application to Mrs. Cheifetz or Mrs. Frantom to participate in this program.  Applications are provided in class by sixth-grade science teachers.  Only students who apply will be considered for the Robotics Club.  The permission to participate form is required once a student has confirmation that they will be participating in Robotics.  

Number of Participants

The number of participants is limited to 24 students.

Grade Level/s of Participants

The club is open to sixth-graders.

Meeting Schedule and Location

  • Season:
    • Fall Session: September through November
    • Winter Session: January through March (Sign up in December.)
  • Meeting Day: Wednesday  
  • Time: 3:45 p.m.
  • Location: Classroom 110 

Student Attendance Guidelines

Attendance is important as students will be working to build and program their robots. No refunds will be issued for missed meetings.
