This is just a reminder that we have a 24-hour school illness policy at District 103. Your child must be fever, vomit, and diarrhea-free for at least 24 hours without fever reducing medication before they can return to school. They must be on an antibiotic medication for 24 hours before returning with strep or pink eye or any other contagious disease that requires an antibiotic. Additionally, if your child goes home sick on the day of a scheduled night time school event, (e.g., concert, portfolios, diversity night) they MAY NOT participate in that evening's event. This policy allows your child the necessary time to recover from their illness, and staying home that extra day helps them to recover and build up their resistance, without infecting other classmates.
