Strategic Plan - Vision 2020
At its meeting on February 17, 2015, the Board of Education approved the Vision 2020 Strategic Plan for School District 103.
Strategic Planning Draft - Vision 2020
The District invited all stakeholders to provide feedback on the draft of the strategic plan. Those comments were reviewed and considered before the Board of Education took action on the plan at its February 17, 2015 meeting.
The Board of Education held special meetings on December 17, 2014 and January 6, 2015. During these sessions, the Board reviewed all the feedback and input from the community and staff surveys as well as the Strategic Planning Committee meetings in November. The draft goals were finalized and provided in January 2015 to the District 103 community for public comment.

In the fall of 2014, District 103 began facilitating a Strategic Planning process to help guide the work of the district for the next 5 years. The strategic plan is the framework through which the district supports schools to ensure the academic success of each student. The vision, focus areas of study and goals set forth by the Board of Education and the Superintendent form the core of the strategic plan. Five focus areas have been determined by the Board of Education:
1. Fiscal Sustainability
2. Curriculum, Assessment and Innovative Learning
3. Transportation and Student Schedules
5. Climate and Culture
The District sought members of our community to be a part of this important planning process. We invited and encouraged community involvement through:
- An Online Survey in October 2014 (select the section below). The survey closed on November 10, 2014.
- Serving on the Strategic Planning Committee in November (select the section below). The committee met on November 16 and 17, 2014.

As the Board of Education and District Administration began the strategic planning process, we requested families and members of the community to share their feedback through a survey. Input on this survey will help guide the district in formulating an updated strategic plan.
- The survey closed on Monday, November 10, 2014.
- All responses remained anonymous.
- Individual survey responses were aggregated and analyzed, and then forwarded to the strategic planning committee for review.
- Summaries of the results are available: community members (pdf) staff (pdf).
If you have questions about the survey, please contact Dr. Scott Warren at (847) 295-4030 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Community members had an additional opportunity to provide feedback on the strategic plan through participation in a Strategic Planning Committee. The committee, made up of approximately 50 people, was a diverse group that included parents/guardians, teachers, principals, district staff, and community and business leaders. For more information on the planning committee, select the section below.
