Daily Schedules by Grade
A new change to the 2017-2018 school year is the starting and ending times of the school day. The academic day will begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 3:35 p.m. The doors of Daniel Wright will open at 8:00 a.m. for students who are being dropped off. Students will remain in the cafeteria until the locker bell rings at 8:20 a.m., as there will NOT be a morning study hall in the library. Students who ride the bus will begin arriving at 8:15 a.m. The last academic period ends at 3:35 p.m., and then students will be dismissed to their lockers and the buses.
For the Daily Schedule, click on the appropriate Grade Level Tab below.
Please note that we have three bell schedule “tracks” at the 7th & 8th-grade levels. The “track” for students depends upon which period they have their 70-minute English Language Arts (ELA) & 30-minute Study Hall block. Each track is named according to the period that the ELA/Study Hall block is located. For example, in the 7-1E Schedule, the 7th-grade students have ELA during 1st period; in the 8-6E Schedule, the 8th-grade students have ELA during 6th period.
Also, new in 2017-2018 is the addition of Advisor/Advisee groups. All staff members and building administrators have been assigned an advisory group, giving us 28 advisories in 7th grade and 30 advisories in 8th grade! Advisory sizes range from 7 to 9 students per group to help facilitate the development of staff-to-student relationships. Advisors will meet with their students each morning for 5 minutes during which time the Daily Announcements will be shared, and attendance will be taken.
