Superintendent Announces Retirement Date - BOE Names Successor

LINCOLNSHIRE, IL – January 14, 2025 – At the January 14, 2025, Board of Education meeting, Superintendent Scott Warren, Ed.D., announced his upcoming retirement, which will take place during the 2026-2027 school year. Dr. Warren, appointed Superintendent in January 2012, will have dedicated 15 years of service to District 103 upon his retirement.

Reflecting on his tenure, Dr. Warren stated:
"It has been an extraordinary privilege to work alongside such dedicated educators, staff, students, parents, and community members who consistently prioritize the success and well-being of our students. Together, we have achieved significant milestones that exemplify our shared commitment to fostering a culture of inclusivity and excellence that defines our district." Anne van Gerven, President of the District 103 Board of Education, expressed her appreciation for Dr. Warren’s leadership, saying:
"On behalf of the entire Board and community, we thank Dr. Warren for his commitment and service to District 103. His vision and dedication have transformed our schools, creating a foundation for continued excellence. He will be missed, and we wish him the very best in his well-deserved retirement."

At the same meeting, the Board of Education named Dr. Katie Reynolds, the current Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction, as the district’s next superintendent. Dr. Reynolds will be the first female superintendent in the District’s history. Dr. Reynolds will assume the role starting in the 2026-2027 school year. A member of the District 103 team since July 1, 2012, Dr. Reynolds brings extensive experience and a deep commitment to educational excellence.

Anne van Gerven shared her confidence in the Board’s decision:
"Dr. Reynolds is an extraordinary leader with a deep commitment to fostering educational excellence and equity. Her dedication to the students, families, and staff of District 103, combined with her innovative and collaborative leadership style, makes her the ideal choice to guide us into the future."

During her tenure as Assistant Superintendent, Dr. Reynolds has led numerous district achievements, including revamping all curricular subjects, expanding the Spanish program to elementary grades, and spearheading innovative professional development for staff. She is known for empowering teachers, building strong community partnerships, and championing programs that support every student’s success.

Dr. Reynolds expressed her gratitude and excitement for her new role:
"I am deeply honored to continue serving Lincolnshire-Prairie View District 103 in this new capacity. I am passionate about our mission to ensure that every student is prepared for a successful future and I look forward to collaborating with our incredible team of educators, families, and community members to build on our strong foundation as superintendent."
