Award Winning Author Visit

This week, award-winning author April Henry visited Daniel Wright to engage with seventh- and eighth-grade students. Her novel, "Girl Forgotten," won the 2024 Edgar Allan Poe Award for Most Outstanding Mystery Fiction for Young Adults. During her visit, students had the opportunity to learn about her experiences as a writer and her research process, which includes learning about escape, evasion, martial arts, and police training. April Henry signed all copies of her books, including those from the seventh-grade summer reading assignment. The visit aimed to inspire students and enhance their appreciation for literature, while addressing the importance of research. Enjoy some of the pictures from her visit.
