Pi Day is a fun way for math teachers to engage students in creative and hands-on activities that highlight the beauty of mathematics. This year, some teachers had students explore Pi in unique ways such as making a colorful Pi Chain Link to represent its digits, writing Pi-Ku poems using the digits to determine syllables, and designing a Pi Skyline where building heights matched the digits of Pi. Students also played a Pi Rolling Game to test their memory and contributed to a vibrant hallway mural made of Pi Quarter Circles.
"These activities not only reinforce mathematical concepts but also inspire curiosity and appreciation for math in everyday life!" said teacher Maria Lee. Please view the photos for details of the activities.
