Pathways to the Future
Forty-four seventh-graders recently took a meaningful step toward discovering their future careers during a visit to Lake County Tech Campus for the Future Quest event. The field trip gave students a chance to sample hands-on experiences in fields such as cosmetology, automotive, industrial technology, and welding as seen in these photos.
Students chose three career programs they were most interested in and rotated through each, engaging in interactive activities while learning about the skills, training, and job opportunities in those industries.
Field trips like this help students begin thinking about their passions and possible career paths beyond high school, said Samantha Blue, Daniel Wright’s School Counselor. ”By exposing them early to real-world options, we’re helping students connect classroom learning to future goals—and giving them the tools to make informed choices about their education and careers.”
