Science Olympiad Heads to Nationals

The Daniel Wright Science Olympiad Team brought home their 14th consecutive State Championship title.

The varsity team of 15 students competed in 23 events, and eight varsity alternates competed in five trial events. Individual medals earned included one fifth place, two fourth place, five third place, seven second place, and eleven first place. Outstanding job Olympians!

The team advances to the national tournament taking place at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln next month.

Members of the varsity team are: Andy Chang (8), Kevin Chen (8), Yihan Gao (8), Tamoghna Gattupalli (8), Vera Goryunov (7), Sarah Hu (8), Michelle Ju (7), Ethan Kim (8), Emma Lu (8), Kavin Majoo (8), Arya Sathasivaharan (7), Vihaan Vaddi (7), Rishi Vasireddy (8), Grace Xing (8), and Alex Zhou (7). Varsity alternate members of the team are: Ishaan Chilamakuri (7), Gabrielle Cho (6), Claire Ge (6), Aadhya Iyer (6), Zachary Lei (6), Caleb Niu (7), Nayomi Patil (8), and Kavya Pavle (7). The team is coached by Lisa Solesky and Prajatka Joshi, with the assistance of dedicated parent volunteer event coaches and alumni junior coaches.
